 18 October, 2025 Dear Philo Singers,  Our Board meeting on Sunday night will be very special.  Yasmin Khan, a Fundraising and Development Consultant, will chat with us about our chorus and lead us in some development training. "   With a nod toward the 1775 ride of Paul Revere, A recital of songs and duets by modern and colonial era British composers  Gerald Finzi, Henry Purcell, & Ralph Vaughan Williams Some will be songs heard in the concert halls of the time,  but others likely only in the taverns.  Message from Gayle (September 8, 2025) Hello Singers!   Let's SING! Rehearsals start up again TONIGHT at 7:30 at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, 8855 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA  19118. Please  bring a black three ring binder or your choral folder  or whatever you use for your music.  There are many 8 ½ x 11 photocopies of music. (By Permission or by purchased Digital Duplication Licenses.)  Bring a black #2  pencil  and any desired water in a  sealed/capped  container.  (We're watching out for spills.) Please arrive  no later the 7:20  so you can find your music packet, find your seat, sign attendance sheet, check your contact info, check your music packet, and say hello to your fellow singers.   AND, please invite your friends and acquaintances and fellow church choir/ synagogue singers to try us out during the month of September.  I'm available for auditions, too, before every Mo...

  Dear Philo Singer: (or Welcome New Philo Singer) Thank you for an awesome 45th Anniversary year! I was so very proud of your performances and singing about beauty and ballgames. You hit it out of the park! This message is about what’s next. Our main themes: 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of America’s independence – and Philomusica will mark the occasion in two unique concerts for residents of our historically important city.  While we support and applaud the arts organizations that will bring out their American flags and bunting, we will offer something different. No current politics or partisanship. No fifes or drums.
