APRIL 20 SPECIAL EVENT PRE OUR MAY CONCERT



You're invited for

insights into the music and poetry of our
upcoming concert.  

 
Presentation, Music, and Refreshments!
Langston Hughes, Margaret Bonds, and Etta Moten are three giants of African American creative arts to emerge in the period between world wars, and whose influence is still felt today. 

Dr. Katy Karlin, Professor Emerita of English at Kansas State University, who has written and lectured on Etta Moten, will speak about how their lives intertwined.  Bass-Baritone Alex Levicoff will sing music by Margaret Bonds, and Philomusica Chorale conductor, Gayle Wieand, will share insider notes on the upcoming concert on May 16.   
 
You are also welcome to attend the Chorale's rehearsal that will follow immediately after the presentation.
