Phillies anthem event July 21

Hi Singers: This letter is for those of you singing at the Phillies Game on July 21.  There's a lot of info here, so please read through it all.

Here's the info that we have so far.

Rehearsals: Please attend all three.
Monday, June 29, 7:30 PM, PCCH; handing out the music; maybe reading thru and trying out different arrangements. I'll be working on an arrangement for you, plus I'll be seeing other composers at Chorus America next week and might have some arrangements!  BONUS: time permitting we'll watch some of our concert.
Monday, July 13, 7:30 PM, PCCH; practice, practice, practice. BONUS: time permitting we'll watch some of our concert.
Monday, July 20, 7:30 PM, PCCH; mandatory rehearsal.  If you can't make this rehearsal, you cannot sing at the game on July 21.

Music will have to be memorized. We will rehearse it ad nauseam.  Yes, I will send an mp3 of each part for your practicing pleasure!

DRESS:
We will wear all black to the game.  LONG Pants.  We prefer long sleeves, but since it's summer, short sleeves to elbows OK, but not sleeveless. I'll be wearing ¾ sleeves or pushed up long sleeves.

THE BIG DAY:
Warm up and review the song on your own.  There won't be any place to practice when we're at the stadium.

TRANSPORTATION:
I plan to take the subway down to the stadium.  From Fern Rock. OR UBER.  We will not be renting a bus. Parking is on your own if you drive. Link below for parking info.  I think you can pre-pay/reserve a spot but read the info for yourself.

PARKING at the Park
The Phillies provided this link for parking.  For your information and convenience. They do not reimburse for parking, not even for the singers!

TICKETS to get into the stadium:
You will receive your tickets from me a couple days before the event.  (The Phillies are giving me a program/app to use to distribute them to you via your email address. More about this after we pay for the tix.)
Singers will also receive a wristband when we get there.  You'll want to leave your belongings with your friends. Please read the FAQ document for info about what you can and can't bring into the stadium.  By the way, if family or friends want to watch the performance up close, the Phillies folks recommend that they stand at the top of Sections 133, 134, or 135. Our seats ultimately are in section 424.

Enter Stadium at Gate 1B

(Please use this video for directions on how to find the Service Ramp: Video [control+click] to access.

We must be inside the stadium at the service ramp by 5:20 PM.  NO LATER.  We will then walk through the facility underneath the stadium (lots of walking) to the 3rd base side of the stadium.

This call time is a bit confusing.  At first the Phillies said absolutely no later than 5:45. The new paperwork, however, says 5:20 for a 6:40 game.  (We will sing at 6:30ish.)  Let's err on the early side and be there no later than 5:20 unless I hear differently from them.  Remember, traffic can be bad; parking will be far away; there are distances to walk.

 Arrival Instructions (from the Phillies)
Where: Enter at Gate 1B. Our staff will meet you at the designated meeting time behind Section 112, located on the first base side on the Main Concourse level. (This is the Service Ramp as indicated above.)
Who: We will be wristbanding performers and chaperones ONLY before entering the actual field.
What:  Please note that Major League Baseball-mandated security procedures require metal detection screening prior to entering Citizens Bank Park.
Note:  We do NOT meet at the seats first.  We meet at the designated meeting time and place as indicated above.

And below is the Frequently Asked Questions sheet from the Phillies.

Please pay for your tickets on Zeffy today.  The link is at the top of this email.  I have to pay for the tix on Tuesday.
Woo Hoo!

including backpacks and draw-string bags, into the ballpark.

larger than 12" x 6" x 12"), medical bags, will be permitted into Citizens Bank Park.

What happens if the game gets delayed?

A Phillies representative will be in contact with the group director should the

game get delayed. There is no set timeframe for when they will decide if the game

is going into a delay or for how long the delay may last. We want to emphasize

that we will operate as if the game is being played unless we are told otherwise.

Meaning, there could be rain leading up to or during the National Anthem

performance. Performers should dress accordingly as the performance location is

not covered. Performers will have access to a bathroom if we are in a delay.

What happens if the game gets postponed?

A Phillies representative will contact the group director immediately following the

announcement should the game get postponed. The group will have the

opportunity to perform the National Anthem on the rescheduled date. If the

group is unable to perform on the rescheduled date, the Phillies will make every

effort to reschedule them during the 2026 season pending the remaining available

dates. A decision to postpone the game is a joint decision between Major League

Baseball and executives within the organization. There is no set timeframe for

when they will decide. I want to emphasize that we will operate as if the game is

being played unless we are told otherwise. Meaning, there could be rain leading

up to or during the National Anthem performance. Singers should dress

accordingly, as the performance location is not covered.

When will we scan our tickets?

You will scan your tickets upon entering the public gate before your performance.
